Yesterday, the Congressional Budget Office announced that the U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan could cost $2.4 Trillion by 2017.Pondering what historians in the coming decades could view as the greatest strategic blunder in security spending ever, I have to wonder how many kWh of solar and wind power, how much of a transition beyond fossil fuels, could this $2.4 trillion have funded?
