As the debate over climate change and clean energy legislation ramps up, one major difference between America's two political parties is that Republicans, much more so than Democrats, are pushing to include big money for building nuclear power plants in the bill.
But is nuclear power a legitimately cost-effective way to reduce emissions? Is it realistic to think we can build enough plants at the speed needed to help us reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80% below 1990 levels by 2050?
