I'm going to have to read something more hopeful after reading this scary piece from Grist... The constructive take-away is the thought of the world really launching a green Apollo project aimed at eliminating greenhouse gas emissions by 2020 (my opinion: this is not remotely possible)...
Remember, a green Apollo project can't just be about decarbonizing our energy supplies, since about 30% of greenhouse gas emissions coming from unsustainable land uses like deforestation, cattle feedlots and rice production...
It's nice that the UN is considering establishing a new body akin to the IPCC to confront this challenge, but we really need to get a move on here...
